School Library Handbook - it's ready!

The Library Services staff of the Santa Clara County Office of Education is
proud to present "Where Do I Start? A School Library Handbook".  This
publication is designed as a practical handbook for the school library staff
member without a library degree, which is a majority of the schools in
California.

It gives an overview of many areas that school library staff will encounter
in their jobs (see the table of contents below for a listing of the topics
that are included).  Additional resources are listed at the end of each
chapter, including books, periodicals, media materials and web sites.

The 151-page Handbook is designed in a loose leaf format so that pages of
notes, local procedures, district policies and other information can be
inserted to make it more useful.  It will be delivered three-hole punched
and shrink-wrapped for placement into your own binder.  It includes a
Glossary of Library Terms and an extensive index.

The Handbook is at the printer now and will be ready for shipment by May 1 -
the cost is $30 per copy (tax included) and $2 per copy for
shipping/Handling.  We accept checks (payable to County School Service
Fund), purchase orders, or Visa/Mastercard orders (must be mailed or faxed
with signature attached).
