Today, April 25th, is one of the most important days on the Australian and New
Zealand calendars as
we remember all those who have served at home and overseas in all conflicts that we
have been
involved in.

ANZAC stands for Australia and New Zealand Army Corps, and the spirit goes back 85
years to when the
troops of the two countries suffered huge losses when they stormed the beaches of
Gallipoli on April
25, 1915.

Now, with only two veterans of World War I still alive in Australia, we carry the
spirit of ANZAC
into this new century with more fervour than ever. The day starts with dawn
services around the
nation and tens of thousands, including thousands of school kids, brave the cold
and dark of the
late autumn morning to remember.

If you would like to know more about this special day, there are some pages on our
school website
(URL below) as well as links on the Australia Online history page.

Lest we forget.
