GEN: Natl Library Week

I invited the administration to read to classes (K-6 building) during the week.  I 
had one student from each class escort the person to the room and give them a pen 
and brochure promoting the online library for Indiana.  I met with the students a 
week ahead of time to practice conversation starters and how they were to escort 
someone from the office to their room.
Good things came from this.  Many administrators only get out into the buildings 
for 'walk-throughs' and many teachers see the administration as too removed from 
the day-to-day teaching that they do.  It was good for both sides, as well as, the 
students getting to talk to different adults.  I plan to do it next year.
