I am looking for library media center staffing standards for each state. This would include staffing levels for certified professionals as well as para-professionals or clerical assistants. These could be broken down by minimum standards, exemplary standards, by grade level, or by number of students in the building-- however the state sets the standards. So far, I have staffing standards from AASL and the North Central Association, and from the following states: Massachusetts, Texas, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania. If you have this info for your state, or even better -- a web link that would direct me to this information, I'd be very grateful. I'm trying to create a document that includes information from each state to use as ammunition when requesting higher staffing levels in library media centers. If there's enough interest, I'll be glad to share the results as a hit when I'm finished.
