Target: Quick Pad / Portable Technology

Some people in our building are showing an interest in purchasing a classroom
set of Quick Pad 4500-5000 keyboards.  We are interested in finding out if
anyone is using them and what they think of them.  Both sides ... pros and
cons.

If you were considering a classroom set purchase ... did you choose something
else instead?  If so, what did you choose and why.

Part of the reasoning for this purchase is that it will be an equalizer for
students who do not have a computer at home.  Students will be able to check
these out of the library to take them home to work on.  Is anyone using
anything else that they feel would be a better choice?

Basically I know nothing about these units .... do they do anything except
word processing?

Any viewpoints and information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in
advance!
