encyclopedia on Latin America

Hi there, once again I'm asking about a reference book.  Our 7th grade
is doing research on Latin America and I do not have an adequate
reference source.  Does anyone out there have an encyclopedia to
recommend?  I talked to someone at Gale publishing today and they
mentioned an encyclopedia of Latin America that sounded quite
costly--$350.  If someone could recommend it I'd feel alot better about
spending that kind of money. I'd appreciate hearing from any of you who
know this set or have other suggestions.  TIA from Helen Dittmer,
