Help with Telnet and PINE

Whenever I read my LM_NET mail on PINE, there is a line of informatin that
should appear at the top of the message (e.g.:MESSAGE TEXT FOLDER INBOX 5
OF 50) but continually jumps to the
middle of the message, hides a line of message, and I must left click my
mouse to get rid of it.   PINE is not otherwise responsive to "mice".
Does any one have a permanent correction? TIA
