TECH: InFocus Projector

Hello Friends,
Our K-6 school just purchased an Infocus L425Z Multimedia Projector.  I
am learning to use it with my library classes as I've been teaching the
use of the electronic card catalog.  Unfortunately, the computer that I
have to use is the checkout station, and it's very inconvenient to
power down the computer, hook up the projector, power back up, teach
the lesson, power down, unhook and then go on to check out books.  I
only have 35 minutes with each class!  Do you know of a way that I
could leave the projector hooked up and still use my computer for book
check out?  When I turn off the projector, the screen goes dark on the
computer and I can't use it unless I completely unhook everything.
I've looked over the manual, but can't find any information.  Thanks
for any ideas!
