We are considering adopting a standard research method for the elementary
schools in our district. We are interested in finding out what research
models are being used successfully by schools. We are already familiar
with the "Big 6" model. Please let me know what other models you are
using and what kind of success are you having.

We are also considering a research project requirement at the 5th grade
level. There is already a middle school and high school requirement. We
would like to see an elementary requirement tied to a content area
curriculum. The hope is that this would make it harder for teachers to
avoid working cooperatively with the library media specialist. Depending
on the classroom teacher, some students never get to work on projects in
the library while others get lots of good experiences that prepare them to
move on to middle school. What is your opinion?
