I have been re-reading all of the postings about laminating machines and am still on the fence about which 25" one to buy (at my costs)--Laminex ($1200) or GBC ($1500 + 300 service contract). I saw the GBC at a conference and it looked great, but it is about $600 above what I had budgeted for-especially with the service contract. I have never believed in service contracts for my own personal appliances, but the postings seemed to indicate that this was a good idea. Is a Laminex a reliable enough workhorse and cheaper to repair as some indicate, or do I go with the quiet, modern-looking "cadillac" ? In other words, is there really enough of a difference to warrant the initial $600 extra expense for a GBC and the extra $300 each year for a service contract? Sorry to rehash this issue, but I'm hoping to hear from those of you who asked the question in the recent past, have made your decision. Thanks!
