TECH: AppleWorks 5.0 printing problem

 Our family purchased an iMac DV with an Epson Stylus 760 printer. I have
been distressed because pages printed from AppleWorks were not looking good.
Some letters on the right margin and at the ends of paragraphs were not
printing. I finally called the Epson tech people and got this solution. Go
to edit, preferences, text. Make sure the box is checked in front of
fractional characters. Click default and the problem is solved! It's easy
enough but I would never had come up with that solution by myself. I think
they indicated the problem was a conflict with OS 9 but I'm not sure if the
conflict is with AppleWorks or the printer itself. The Epson people were
very helpful but I did have to pay for the phone call myself. But it was
worth it.
