bags for books

As I was reading the stories of book damage, I read the one where the
library sells plastic book bags in the fall.  I don't do that, and I don't
use bags for books, but I do put magazines in brown envelopes when I check
them out.  It helps keep them useable longer.  I tell the kids (K-8) to
leave the magazine in the envelope unless they are reading it.  It really
seems to help.  With all the advertising and other mail I get, I don't have
to buy envelopes.  I just recycle.
