As a native Rhode Islander, I can't keep out of this any more. You may
think our neighbors in Massachusetts are weird, calling a milkshake with
ice cream a frappe: well, in R.I., it's a cabinet, as in, "I'll have a
coffee cabinet, please." Dry cleaning establishments are called
"cleansers," we go "down cellar" to check on the furnace, and yes, we
too drink from "bubblers." Any other clamdiggers out there who want to
add to the list? And we love our quahogs and little necks on the half
shell. I refer all of you who love this kind of thing to the DARE
(Dictionary of American Regional English). (I won't even start in on
our weird pronunciation of words like "orange" and "Oregon.")
