My mother moved from Wa<r>shington State to Sharon, Pennsylvania,  Fall
of 1939 to get married.  When people asked her where she was from, she
replied Washington.  The inevitable response, she told me, was DC or PA?
 And then she had to explain, well no, from the state.

I am the only one of her three children who has picked up the Warshington
and warshing hands and such.
