Message-ID: <3965E7DD.3A61@bellsouth.net> Date: Fri, 07 Jul 2000 10:23:25 -0400 From: Dorothy Black <dcblack@bellsouth.net> Reply-To: dcblack@bellsouth.net X-Mailer: Mozilla 3.01C-BLS20 (Win95; U) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: LM-NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU Subject: Target:Hosp. services Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Netters, Has anyone out there had any experience with hospital library service to children/parents? I am volunteering this summer in a family resource library within a children's medical center. There is no librarian; the funding fell through. There is an office with a computer connected to Internet. Presently, a book cart is rolled around to patients' rooms each day. A sheet on clip board lists materials checked out indicating Rm.#, date, name, title, author. They check out children's books, magazines, videos, and adult paperbacks. I would like to catalog the small collection and initiate a better method of check in/out. The budget is very small so something like Follett is out of the question. Also any better circulation mechanism than card&pocket? Many thanks for your suggestions.
