By no means am I a veteran....I only just finished my first year as an LMS (previously a classroom teacher). That said, I do have years of classroom and the year of being an LMS behind my belt. Neither the education degree, nor the library degree was preparation enough for what one faces in the "real" world of teaching. So I think it unfair to turn people away from this listserv based on the concept of their questions being ones that are asked already. Yes, people should do their research. But I thought (I don't think mistakenly) that this was a place where we could ALL go for help-- newbees or veterans. This list is especially helpful when you need to get info ASAP-- because the people here have the right answers. I also find that when a question that I might have seen before is again posted, that many time the responses can give me new information or a new perspective. Just my two cents, Emily Smith, Librarian St. Anne's School, New York ESmithLMS@aol.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
