In case you missed it or didn't check it out Kathy Graves gave a link to a site for new librarians on her homepage. I looked at it and it is excellent; I am referring a friend of mine who just got his 1st library job to this site. http://tln.lib.mi.us/~rtruxall/media/ Entitled : So You Want to Be a School Media Specialist . . . Would also be helpful for anyone changing buildings or districts; some of the questions may seem to be "no-brainers" but I would use it as a checklist. I agree that you do not get enough practical experience in library school; internships should show the practical side but if the co-operating librarian doesn't help you are at a disadvantage. I do not mind helping new librarians; I wish this list-serv had been around when I began my career. Diane Pozar Monroeville, Pa. We read to know we are not alone. C.S.
