Hello all,

(Ok, please put down Harry Potter for just one minute.)

If any of you have tried the Columbia Granger's index online recently
mentioned (on listserv) or if you already have it in your libraries,
could you briefly comment on its performance and usability. It contains
more than the index -- poetry, short biographical info. too.

One of the teachers at school who looked at it for me didn't find it
easy to use and wasn't happy with the subj. search and coverage in
general.

It looks REALLY GOOD to me, and our students study poetry pretty
heavily. They use Granger's Index with some success, but never was there
a more unwieldly reference book -- although an important one. In my
all-boys school they always need things fast, of course.

If you need the URL for yourself, it's:

I will glady post a hit.
