Ideas on how to supplement the collection?

Hello!

This fall I will begin my first year of work as a media specialist in a
small middle school. The school's library collection has not been updated in
many years, and the library budget is small. Does anyone have any creative
ideas on how to supplement either the collection itself or the library
budget?  Thanks!
