Ar re-labeling

There have been quite a few postings concerning
re-labeling of AR books. For those of you who plan to
re-label, you may want to check out Scholastic Reading
Counts and SRI. RC is using lexiles which are
correlated to state tests such as SAT 8, CTBS, etc. It
is also an independent forumula developed by research
at NIH. RC also allows you to customize all testing
criteria - which if you like site-based management -
you get to make testing decisions for your students.
You do not have to use points for those of you who do
not like awards - you can turn them off. Some of my
friends who switched say that RC seems to be more cost
effective as well.
