My original question revolved around whether or not it was possible to know if someone had deleted mail you had sent them without having opened it. The responses I received would indicate that whether or not it can be done and how it can be done varies between e-mail programs. 1. "Groupwise" has tracers that send you back a message indicating the disposition of the mail. 2. AOL users can go to "Read' on the toolbar, then hit "Status" at the bottom of the window, but this only works with other AOL acccounts 3. There was a suggestion to look at the properties section under file, but the e-mail program in use was not named. My own acount is "yahoo"- there does not appear to be an option of this nature. Thank you again to my respondees. ===== Grace Oliff, Librarian Ann Blanche Smith E.S 1000 Hillsdale Ave. Hillsdale, N.J. 07642 grace_1335@yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
