Hi Everyone, It is that time of year when all the library books are due into the library and I am having a problem. I have given overdue notices everyday to the students that have books out. I have one week of school left and now I am at the point of wanting to "threaten." I have asked for the classroom teacher's help, but do not seem to be getting much support. I have offered to keep the students during recess, and want to keep them from any "fun" activities until the books are returned. My principal supports this and has also suggested that I call everyone that has a book out and tell the parents. This is about 100 students! When I multiply the number of books by the district cost, it is my entire budget for the year. How can I build my collection? I need some suggestions. What do you do, and how many books are not returned to your school library every year on an average? Thank you.
