Had an interesting conversation on the train the other day about our profession and technology. Somehow it led to cataloging and then meta tags in web sites. The gentleman was asking me if there were any rules to developing the words and phrases used in meta tags similiar to LC or Sears subject headings. I didn't think so but I thought I'd ask. It is a business site and he wants optimum hits with search engines so I did suggest using subject headings along with Broader, Narrower, and Related terms and anything suggested as a see also. Any insight?
