Help! I'm just finishing-up my second year in the profession, and I need some advice. I have a situation in my library many of you may have as well. The problem: I have only four student computer workstations (and I don't have the space or resources to acquire more). And, there is no computer lab in my building. I want to teach my students different computer applications, but I cannot have an entire class all using computers at the same time. I've tried different strategies already, but none has been fully satisfactory. So far, I've tried teaching groups of 4-8 students at the computers while the remainder of the class works on other activities, and I've tried large group instruction with me as the only person actually sitting at a computer. Have any of you developed methods that work better? Or, are the two ways I have tried already the only possibilities in light of my situation? I'd love suggestions or comments about my situation. Thank you, Laura Alterio Easterly Parkway Elmentary School, State College, PA lba11@scasd.k12.pa.us =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
