Paulsen, Gary._Mr. Tucket_,1994 [0-375-80680-6] Fourteen-year-old Francis Tucket is on a wagon train going to Oregon when he is captured by Indians. He is then rescued by a colorful trapper. This is the start of Francis' (now called Mr. Tucket) growing up and adventure on the frontier. There are many humorous situations in the story along with the violence of fighting Indians. If you are looking for an exciting frontier story, this 166 page book is it. It has a follow-up called "Call me Francis Tucket." By the way, I picked this up in a local book store off the summer reading shelf. It was selected by another school. This is a great way to pick up good reads with which you are not familiar. *************** Frederick Muller Halsted Middle School Library 59 Halsted Street Newton, NJ 07860 voice (973) 383-7440 ext 228 FAX (973) 383-7432 My book reviews are compiled at: http://www.halsted.org/br.htm My personal web site is: http://users.tellurian.net/fmuller =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
