Dear LM_NET Pals, We have been asked by LM_NETTERS about an event at ALA, and I do think we would benefit professionally from this one. To RSVP, please e-mail <linworth@linworthpublishing.com> with the subject "RSVP: Issues in Education Forum", and include your name, school affiliation. Please do NOT reply to pmilbury (Thanks!) While not specifically an LM_NET breakfast, this event is designed along the same lines--Gale approached Linworth specifically to help them design the content and speakers to address the issues of school library media specialists. At ALA's Annual Conference in Chicago, The Gale Group and Linworth Publishing will host the first in a series of seminars designed for school library leaders. The "Issues in Education Forum" will focus on issues of importance as we educate our children in the information age. This year's seminar will be held in conjunction with a cocktail and hors d'ouervres reception on Sunday, July 9, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The topic is *Enhancing Information Literacy through Technology* and features education technologist Alan November. Mr. November has been a pioneer in the special role of children as important community problem-solvers, and in helping schools incorporate technology to enrich education. Mr. November will encourage Q&A throughout his presentation, making it a lively exchange of ideas. There is no charge for this event. To RSVP, please e-mail <linworth@linworthpublishing.com> with the subject "RSVP: Issues in Education Forum", and include your name, school affiliation, and address. Your confirmation notice will include the exact location. There are only a limited number of spaces available, so RSVP today!
