Providence High School, a private Catholic college preparatory,
coeducational school, with an enrollment of 550 students, has the
following opening for the academic year 2000-2001.  Providence High
School has been named a blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United
States Department of Education.

Position Title: Librarian/Media Specialist

Reports To:             Department Chair, Librarian/Media Specialist

Purpose of Position:    To furnish all aspects of library/media center
functions
                                including reference and library
instruction.  To provide quality library services to student body and
staff.  The Library is automated with ten computers for student use with
Internet access.

Major Responsibilities:

1.      Selection of new materials in all formats.
2.      Process all new materials using Winnebago system, including the
cataloging
        of web pages.
3.      Provide student orientation to the Library for classes of
students
4.      Provide individual assistance to students with computers and use
of
        informational software, the Internet, and word processing
programs.
5.      Assist teachers by providing materials from the collection that
support topics
        being taught.
6.      Channel One coordinator
7.      Become familiar with policies and procedures of Providence High
School in
        order to achieve effective operation of the Library.

Qualifications:
1.      MLS or MLIS or about to complete degree requirements
2.      Some Library experience

This is a full-time position as Librarian of Providence High School.
The salary is based on faculty salary schedule, depending on credits and
years of service.
