LM_NET: Library Media Networking
Call for Entries
The Colorado Center for the Book, a non-profit organization affiliated with
the Library of Congress and dedicated to encouraging a love of reading, is
accepting submissions of art for our Colorado Summer Reading Program 2001.
The themes for the Program are, 'Once Upon A Time...' for the children's
program and 'Virtual Worlds' for the young adult program. A thematic image
is needed for each category. The image will be reproduced as posters,
bookmarks, T-shirts, and other related materials. Work from a single artist
may be entered for both themes. Past artists have included Michael Hague,
Denise Fleming and Steven Kellogg. More than 100,000 children around
Colorado participate in this annual program.
The color image must be bright, eye-catching and appealing to kids and
should be attractive from a distance. Two-dimensional work in any medium
will be accepted. Clip-art (reproducible black and white line drawings)
based on the work will be required later. Both finished work and artist
proposals will be accepted.
Entry deadline is June 25th, but will be extended until the appropriate work
is selected.
