Dear Colleagues, I hope this is the last time I need to call for help.
After this week I am ready to get out of the library field.

Two weeks ago we sent out notices to teachers and administrators that we
would be closing the library for one week to do inventory of 12,000 books,
videos, cd roms, etc. So yesterday we started our in-house work. We did
not close the doors to teachers and some elementary teachers came in and
reported to the administrator that we were not working and that they want
us to continue reading to their classes the rest of the week. I am foaming
at the mouth. Evidently sitting reading shelves is not working. And all
three administrators said they did not receive the notice when one of our
librarians personally handed the memo to them.

I had no choice but to give in. As a consequence we will not get the
inventory done.

What would you do?
