The deadline for feedback on the draft issue was June 16th.
Some respondents are participating in a pilot program to start in
November.

The process will be open to all starting in the 2001-02 school year.
The certification is good for 10 years.
Some states are offering cash incentives to those who are successful to
the tune of $25-30,000, or in the case of North Carolina , all fees will
be paid and a 12% increase in pay if you succeed.
Comments/feedback from those who are familiar with the process:
Find support through other teachers who have successfully completed
certif.
and have them edit your work if possible.
Don't wait, take the draft standards, study them and internalize them.
It will make the process "easier".
You are allowed to take notes to the written test, so take good ones:-)
Use your paid professional days to put together your "box"(portfolio)
One respondent said her state had a website and listserv.
Many of you asked to have an e-mail list to circulate for a support
network. Suggestions on the best way to do this? list serv?
Request some workshops at your state conferences so you can network
with others. The more information, ideas and support the better.

If I learn any more I'll be happy to share.
