For the many of you that requested a listing of the visual clues, here they are. We numbered them in the display case using a piece of clip art that looked like a filmstrip from KIDPIX. Because this contest was opened to grades K-5, we did try to throw some verrrry easy clues in, with the winners being selected from each grade level at each school. The public library also had some things available, including lists of Newbery winners, and they spent time instructing families on how to use their online catalog. We hope you have as much have fun with them as we did!! 1) a stuffed mouse sitting atop a toy motorcycle (and for those of you that caught the error... we gave credit for both books) 2) a little Indian lego figurine standing in a not so deep triangular shaped candy box that looked like a cupboard 3) a large wax peach 4) game pieces 5) a blue stuffed dolphin on a brown construction paper island 6) gummy worms 7) a puzzle piece map of Kansas and a witch's cap 8) a small Eiffel tower statue 9) a stuffed beaver holding a sign 10) little figures from Disney's Pooh series 11) a plastic pink piggie bank 12) a stuffed dalmatian "beany baby" 13) a hook and an alarm clock 14) a shopping bag from the Museum of Fine Arts in NY 15) a spider web with a plastic Halloween spider in it 16) an Arthur baseball hat and a red bow tie 17) a Curious George stuffed monkey 18) a pair of sunglasses 19) a bell marked southern ===== *)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*) Nadine Lipman, School Librarian Cohanzie Elementary School Waterford, CT 06385 cohlib32@yahoo.com ------------------------------------------------------------ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
