REF: Vampire novels by teenager?

Dear LM_NETter's:

Our social studies chair caught a portion of CNN on which they read an
excerpt of a new series of vampire novels by a teenage girl.  Her English
teacher has been both her editor and her agent.  Do any of you know the
name of the author or the title of the books?
