target, elem: weeding and collection development

---Please help!!
After 30 years, our media specialist has retired and
we are trying to update the collection.  The
collection is very old.  Our school is preK - 6 with
around 1200 students.  We are looking at weeding our
nonfiction section and will probably weed about 1200
titles.  Our principal wants to know what the minimum
number of titles per dewey range are recommended for a
school this size.  I know we can find titles from a
source such as the Elementary School Library
Collection, however, my principal is interested in
finding out the minimum number suggested for a
mediacenter this size.Thanks
