Group,

Lately we have had several messages that I feel are inappropriate to the
group and do not follow the goals of questions dealing with school libraries
and school librarianship. As a member of the LM_NET Etiquette Committee, I
urge you to ask yourself the following questions before sending a message.

1. Does this message go along with the purpose of the group?
2. Is this message politically correct? Will the subject of the message
insult anyone's gender, race, age, or religious beliefs?
3. Is the language in the message appropriate, or does it have insulting
undertones?
4. Do I really want to forward a message that I have received to the
entire group or should it be sent to just a select group of correspondents?
Is it worth having to remove each line of forwarding remarks? Has the
message already been sent to the group?

Please think of these criteria before sending a message. And above all, do
not let anyone have access to your email, especially students.
