I don't think that Jeff intended to "flame" anyone but rather he was railing against an institution that would set up these rules. I don't agree with everything that he said but I feel that it is informative to see how others feel about such rules. This will give us some insight into how parents and students may react to a new rule. If we only deal with like-minded people it is difficult to see why others might object to something.
