GEN: Messages Posted to LM_NET

Dear LM_NET Colleagues,

With regards to problematic or accidental postings and accidental replies,
here is something worth considering when reading and replying to mail on
LM_NET.

Please be aware of this: Messages posted by our members are NOT
pre-screened in most cases. Generally, once a person has subscribed and
posted a message with the correct identification included, they are free
to post to the group at will. There is no way all messages could be
pre-screened with this group being managed on a volunteer basis.

We are completely dependent on the goodwill of our members to follow our
guidelines. If someone loses control of their e-mail, and messages are
posted without their knowledge, there is no way we can keep it from being
posted. All we can do is to block that address from posting again.

Given this situation, I would like to say that we have had very few
problems or abuses of our forum's guidelines over the years. I feel that
this is due to the high quality of our membership, of our profession, and
the volunteers on our Hospitality Committee who help guide our group from
behind the scenes.
