LM_NET: Library Media Networking
I just had a Scholastic Book Fair in two buildings, one a 2-6 gr. and the
other 7-8 grades. Our sales were great. Selection was great (although
the only title that we didn't receive that was on the video was
"Heartland" and we could reorder that) but delivery of reorders were so
slow. It took two-three days for UPS delivery even when they were called
in by 1:15 or so, rather than the overnight that I am used to.
I have never had a problem with books not being available except a year or
so ago and we had those titles within a week to 10 days. I still take
paid orders. Usually if titles are backordered they let me know that so I
could tell students and parents that there might be a wait and they could
make their decision accordingly.
I still like Scholastic book fair the best when having to make a choice
between Scholastic and Troll. Troll has great premiums to entice you to
change but their selection is not as great.
That is my two cents worth.
