Documentation please

Dear LM-Netters - I have been struck lately by the lack of documentation in
this librarians' forum.  When I read something that contradicts either (1)
what I know or (2) what someone else has posted it would be most helpful to
have a source cited. When people do not post sources, I can't use the
information in any way at all, even for my own edification.  Sorry - it's
just what I do for a living that has made me this way. ):
So although we are often in a rush while posting, could we please all agree
to give a tiny hint as to how one might verify the information
advanced?  Thank you a bunch!
