Janey's Girl, by Gayle Friesen

Dear Colleagues,
        A formal challenge has been posed by two parents against Janey's Girl, by
Gayle Friesen.  I am an elementary school librarian and decided to include
Janey's Girl along with all of the other nominees for the 2001 Young
Reader's Choice Award (a regional children's choice award whereby books
are nominated by librarians, teachers, parents, and students, but voted on
soley by students).
        It would help me if you could tell me:

a) If you work at the elementary level
b) If you circulate Janey's Girl
c) If you participate in YRCA
d) If you have had anyone in your community voice concerns over this book
or any of the other YRCA nominees for this year.
