LM_NET: Library Media Networking
Happy Thanksgiving to you all,
One of my first grade teachers is in need of a picture book dealing with
single parent or blended families for a class presentation for her master's
course.
I have hit our card catalogue at school and have just now spent several
hours searching Amazon.com without total success. From our library I can
recommend A Chair For My Mother, Like Jake And Me, Oh My Baby, Little One and
possibly Daddy, Daddy Be There. I feel that I am missing some that I must
have in the collection.
Looking through Amazon, I think that By The Dawn's Early Light by Karen
Ackerman, When Momma Gets Home by Marisabina Russo, Robert Lives With His
Grandparents by Hickman, Totally Uncool by Levy and Gettin' Through Thursday
by Cooper might also work but before I order one or more to supplement this
subject area (we have many, many students living in this type of family), do
any of you wonderful ones have experience using any of these books or
recommendations for other picture books with this theme that might fill this
teacher's request?
