K-6 readalouds?

I think I just posted this with no body!  Oops!


I'm working with our after school program, which just started this week.  I
am struggling to find a workable format for doing readalouds.  Currently,
the director wants me to do a readaloud for k-6 together for about 45
minutes, twice a week.

Is this workable?  If so, do you have suggestions of books that would work
for this disparate age group?
