I need some professional advice. 5th grade teachers in our District have used Sign of the Beaver for years. The title is in question now because of the way the Native Americans are depicted. Title IV representatives are asking us not to use it in classroom situations, and question it's value on library shelves. Please share your thoughts. Is there an Internet site that lists book titles that should not be in our collections due to improper/incorrect ethnic interpretation?
