 I have
finally finished my pathfinders. The first link below is a general
explanation
of the idea of a pathfinder and the second is the pathfinder I gave to
the
Sociology class in print, and also mounted it on my web page. The great
thing
about it being on the web page is that I can make it hyper link to the
various
resources. Any feedback about what I have created would be appreciated!

We simply demonstrate the catalog, sticking with the browse, during
freshman orientation, then let them look for a book, using the catalog
and
offering help to any who need it. They learn how to use it just fine by

doing that, and it is in context with their lesson, which is to find a
book to check out and read.

My book, 100 More Research Topic Guides for Students, Greenwood, 1999,
has
100 "pathfinders" or topic guides which include electronic resources.

I create online Project Pathfinders for all the research projects done
in my
school. In fact, I'm working on an article about them, to be published
in
one of Linworth's magazines, right now.

To see samples of the Pathfinders, go to:

If you want to see the text of the article, which will be published in
early
2001, just let me know.
