Hello all, I am new to my school this year and have come into a library that was weeded by the middle school (I'm elem) librarian over the summer. She told me to go through again. I've consulted Sunlink and many other guides, but am stuck with this dilemma. Some sections of my library have just plain OLD books- ugly old covers with very old copyrights. The library already has many "holes" in its collection due to the weeding over the summer. So....do I continue to weed heavily and remove things that I don't think the students would touch, or do I leave them for the sake of having SOMETHING on hand? I'm considering too, the possibility that we might be automating during next summer...is it worth it to add these older books? Will weeding them out and showing my principal how badly we need funds to replace be the way to go?
