I do elementary.  Yes, I do censor what is in the library.  Some books I
have told the students that they will need to wait until they get into
middle school.  I also tell them that they cn get it in the public
library.  I do not feel that all books are appropriate for a K-5 school.
Therefore, I judge whether:
        1--Book is part of curriculum
        2--At a reading level that is in my school
        3--Appropriate language for K-5
        4--Appropriate themes for K-5

#s: 1-2 are the first two criteria.  The next two are judgement calls.
Sometimes I do not feel that it is appropriate for this level because of
my beliefs, and then will have a second person judge if it is one that is
highly recommended.

Hope this helps.  I learned in college that lots of censorship begins
with the selection process.
