Hi, I am posting this to our state e-list as well as LMNET so I apologize to those who are getting this twice. Back in the mid-80s, Barb Herrin at Emporia State, who was teaching the school library media class, read a "story" about a student teacher (at least that's how I remember it) who was trying to select a book to read to the class and for every title she suggested (either to the supervising teacher or librarian, I can't remember) she was told she couldn't use it and the reason why. Most were children's classics, award winners (e.g., Sylvester and the Magic Pebble because of the police being depicted as "pigs." Later I thought about asking her for a copy but never got around to it. Anybody happen to have that story?
