Spell check problems in Outlook Express

Every time I try to send a message that is a forward, reply, or from the
Internet, I get a message that tells me the spell check was halted and do I
want to send anyway?  I have checked the options and can find nothing that
is out of the ordinary.  This started when I put a new version of McAfee
Virus Protection on my computer to replace the virus clinic that was causing
a lot of problems with my computer.  Does anyone have a solution?

The spell check works fine with an original message.
