I think the idea of having a box of books to read on the bus would result in lost books. If you implement the idea, I would suggest using donated paperbacks, so that you won't loose financially. An aside on the issue: As a child I lived in a rural area, and my ride home from high school involved 1 transfer to another bus and over an hour ride. I did 99% of my homework while riding home and read MANY books while riding home. (The first bus was high school only and was social time; second bus had everyone on it and when things quietened down, it was my study time.) I never had a problem with motion sickness. However in my late 20s I made my first car trip into the rolling hills of southern Missouri, and experienced motion sickness! I can no longer read in the car, (or for very long), rolling hills make me sick, riding in the back of a bus makes me sick, boats make me sick and also the landing process on many airplanes. I don't even try amusement park rides. -- Mary Croix Ludwick ludwick@swbell.net (home) ludwickm@lisd.net(school) Librarian, Owen Elem.,The Colony, Texas Lewisville ISD(north of Dallas) K-5 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
