Book Challenge

A colleague of mine has been presented with a challenge to the book Alice on
the Outside by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor.  The challenger is a parent who has
read just one page.  I do not know the exact nature of her objection, but
she seems ready to follow through the procedure to have the book reviewed
and removed from the library.

Please send any helpful comments to Miki Pryne.  I have already referred her
to our district policy and the Washington Coalition against Censorship.  Her

Miki is the librarian in a middle school, grades 6-8.
