Moldy books should NOT be used in the library. Many children have sensitivities and allergies to mold. There are many different kinds of mold, and some can be quite harmful to the body. Just because the mold is dry, doesn't mean it is no longer harmful. I would plastic-bag the book, and charge a replacement fee for it. (My husband is an indoor-air quality consultant, so I have heard about and seen the effects of molds.)=20 Lee D. Gordon, Librarian Sierra Vista High School (702)799-6820 x230 8100 W. Robindale Rd.
